Server is not showing up 1

Please forgive me, I have no training in networking (so I'm probably not using the right terms), but I have to keep our server up at work though.

We have a NT server and I am trying to add a few XP machines to our network. Everything is fine until I try to access the server. I can get to my networked drives just fine, but when I got to "My Network Places", "Entire Network", "Microsoft Windows Network", and double click on our server name, I get this error:

"The list of servers for this workgroup is not available"

Please help

what networking protocols are you using on the server? tcp/ip + ? ===============

cartwfh , I would have suggested next to make sure the workstations were using the all same protocols as the server. ===============
