We have an Exchange Server 5.5 SP4 on Windows NT4.0 Server. In the last few days, the server going weird, the Harddisk suddenly accessed intensively almost 24 hours non-stop And the server is going very slow.
This morning no one can be connected to the server. So I have to restart it. But this time I cannot restart it gracefully, had to do it with 'reset' button. Fortunately the server runs well on the next boot.
Nothing Suspicious on Event Log. Virus Scan has done with no result. So with Adware/Spyware scan.
Any sugestions ?

Memory leak would be my guess. As more and more memory was consumed, the swap file would go crazy trying to swap things in and out.

Use the Task Manager to track the Physical and Virtual memory use of the running processes.

Using Perf Monitor, We got : Page File usage upto 60%, the highest process using page file is MT.EXE which is known as MS Exchange connector to MS Mail As we still operate MS Mail server for Win NT 3.51 users (Oops, shame on me !!).
When "MS Mail connector interchange" service brought down, that non-stop HD access never happen again. But here comes the problem, MS Exchange users cannot send mail to MS Mail Users. Any suggestion ?
