Hi,
I have a 2000 member server in a 2003 domain which seems to have picked up folder redirection from somewhere & I cannot reverse the situation.

Originally I had 2 XP users testing roaming profiles in a OU on their own. After a while I decided against RP and stopped it in the test user profile & the GPO for that OU.

However, lately I have 1 2000 member server that always redirects it's Desktop, Application Data & My Documents to a NAS device. I have disable GPO for this server, deleted the shared directory many times, & even disable user & computer configuration in the local GPO, but each time I reboot, it creates the folder again!

Any ideas would be appreciated..

it can be a script doing that much, a GPO on the domain, ... script, finally a virus..

If this is a server, first run "gpupdate /force" then run an rsop.msc. Go thru the policies to see where the policy is coming from.

Is all else fails, you can change the registry key for the redirection.

Hi.
This is a Windows 2000 member server so gpupdate /force & RSOP.msc will not run.

I have gone through the local GPO and it appears nothing is enabled so I am baffled where its getting this setting from!
Cheers

Ok then I would go into the registry and wipe out the redirection setting. Make sure it is gone and then run the secedit policy refresh command to see if it comes back. I hate to say it, but I hate Windows 2000. It is almost always the source of a problem.

Hi again,
Do you know where I would find the reg entry for this? I have scanned the registry and cannot seem to locate any reference?

Thanx again

Many thanx djtech2k,
Have made the changes and will check when I can reboot the server in the morning.
