Looking for help on server edition root user. I have a 9.0 server edition that one of my coworkers installed and never set the root password during ignition. Changing it thru the web does not seem to work. Any thoughts?

Impossible to not give a root password.
So your only option is a reinstallation.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

if you have physical access to the server and can reboot it it is possible to reset the root password.

download a 64 bit Fedora or centos Live CD & follow the instructions here (it should work but I have not tested yet )

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Try Administrator as the password. if he was a standard Avaya IP Office user that sometimes gets stuck in the head.
