Hey All,

I apologize in advance for this question.. but we have to get this PO in today and my rep is on the east cost and already gone.

The solution we are designing is for a primary IP0 with Server Edition and a back up server should the primary fail.

Would this require 2 server edition licenses or just 1 since all licensing goes to fallback server?

Thanks in advance

I am not sure to be honest.
I think you do but SSA shows that it does not.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

you need a SE license for every "device" in the SE network:

e.g.
Primary
secondary
2 x SE linux expansion
6 x IP500 expansion

= 10 SE licenses required on primary.

From the knowledgebase:

"One Server Edition license is required for the Primary Server, the Secondary Server, and for each expansion system (Linux or IP500 V2). These licenses are entered into the configuration of the Primary Server."
