Hopefully this is my last Server Edition question/problem.

All of my users are either power users or office worker users. On the mobility tab for the users, I can setup twinning for the power users but for the office worker users, mobility features is greyed out.

I tried setting a login code but that did not change anything.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Twinning won't work on Office workers.

You need "Basic user" then you can twin without One-X portal and Call control.
Or add more Mobile worker of Power users.

Bas1234, not true on the server edition.
The server edition requires a power user license if you want to use twinning.
Office worker or basic user both do not enable twinning.

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Office worker i know, thats what i said. But basic user should work like the IP500 but without Call contol.

I see that and you are right.
I took a look in our server and it was not possible.
When there is no power user assigned then it is grayed out.
But i am running the trials so i will raise this as a bug.

This is really confusing. ATAC said twinning should work. Support said I need mobility licenses. I know I don't need those licenses since they are not available for Server Edition.

Our customer is not too happy but it doesn't seem like there is anything I can do at this point.

What version manager do you use?
I have the GS candidate for the next release and it works for me now while the previous version did not.

But a workaround is to assign a power user license, enable twinning and set it back to basic user.
As long as you do not uncheck the option mobile twinning (you can turn on and off twinning but not the checkbox above that) you will be fine.

I am on 8.1.43. I see there is a .52. Is that the one that works?

Here is something interesting. I brought up a config offline for one of the control units to test your workaround. All of the mobility is open for all users.

I wonder if I connected to individual boxes instead of the full server solution, the mobility would be available. I will have to test when I get back out there.

Thanks for your help. Good info as always.

I run 8.1.63 (trial version) and i am not sure if 8.1.52 works.

PS you cannot connect to an expansion system with manager because it will tell you that it is under supervision of a server edition and that you will need to connect to that system.

Funny: IPOFFICE-33145 Enterprise Manager grays out external mobility options when new user is being created

Fixed in manager 8.1.56 which is now on the support site.
