Server Edition License Error 1

We have deployed new Server Edition running on ESXi.
Avaya provided an ADI Key based on the server generated serial number we gave them.
however error message says "Server Edition License Exceeded: There are insufficient Server Edition licenses".
Any idea? We are asking Avaya but it may take weeeeeks to get an answer as you know.

I think your SID changed due to a new IP Adress, host name or time zone setting.

I think not as you have two weeks for changes with a max of 5 changes.
I suspect you installed the server edition with the ISO which is not permitted on a virtual system.
For a virtual system you will need to use the OVA.
When that is installed then you need to call your business partner and explain the situation and let them swap the licenses to the new ID you have now.

Thanks tlpeter, you are exactly right. I have installed from ISO this time.
So it seems I need to reinstall from OVA and request new licence OR ask Avaya to issue physical server license isn't it?

Virtual doesn't support the normal SE licenses.

There are two SE's

Physical on Avaya supplied servers or servers with only SE on it -> nnormal SE licenses -> ISO
Virtual SE's on ESXI -> Virtual SE licenses -> OVA

You could try to install the OVA and see if you keep the same system ID.
If not then you must swap the licenses.
