The point is that upgrading from the primary server is a copy of all the files to the SD card and when that is done the IP500v2 reboots.
This takes a while.
You can however upgrade an IP500v2 expansion system with manager (i just did and the file transfer is still busy )
As it's server ed it isn;t allowing me to upgrade via Manager (unless the default upgrade password is different ie not password)
I've left it running for 4 hours now and still 70% and error in Monitor is showing "08:18:01 42449176mS PRN: Whois - can't get access to binary file: A:\system\primary\dsaupnV1.bin!"
However if I run the old upgrade wizard on a couple of the units the files have reached the SD card and showing the correct version.
Really frustrating. Done this before and just hit run. (although that was back on 8.1 so not sure on any differences) I want to blame the linux security updates but I'm sure it's something else.
Did you try to close manager and open manager and then go to upgrade straight away?
When you open a server edition config than you cannot open a standalone system anymore and that is how yuo should connect to it.
You could also pull the SD card, copy the config.cfg from it and then recreate the card.
Yeah, did that as well... I do have the right password after all but as they are Expansions in the SE the Wizard will fail. Gonna raise it up to avaya to see why they aren't taking the files. Prob an issue with the iso image although the Primary was fine.
Thanks for the help Peter, At least I know I'm not going mad.
What about cpiying the ip500v2.bin file on to the SD card and then reboot?
You still do need to copy all the system files but at least the ipo is upgraded.
IPOLackey you would need to take the SD card out and copy it via your PC and card reader. You can;t overwrite system files with the embedded file management

Well, In case anyone ever digs out this ticket, there is a work around. If you open the security settings and go to your unsecured interfaces you have an option for Program Code. If you enable this you can use the upgrade wizard as if it's a normal IP500. Transfer rate is still slow but it works and that's all I care about )
