I have a hp laptop on our network that is causing some headache. When we log on to it, we do not have access to all the resourses that we would normally have. For instance, if I log into my computer, I can access any file on either of our two servers. However, if I log into the hp laptop, we get an error message stating, security compromised....blah blah blah. Whats wrong???

Oh yea, and when I log off then try to log back in, my account is locked out....
I should also mention that the servers run 2003 and all of our machines run xp pro

Have you tried removing it from and rejoining it to the domain???

Not yet, I am worried that if I do so, we will loose all our email that is in outlook 2000.

Here is a more in detail description of whats happening:
"We are a small buisness running and XP environment with two servers runing Windows 2003 and active dirctory. We have a new laptop with a docking station from HP that replaced an older desktop computer and now have connection problems. Before I arived on board, an outside IT individual tried to fix the problem with a bandaide. He created a bandaide by adding a new user loggon with the same abilities. The original account can access the internet and recieve pop email, however can not access files on the server. It opens a dialog box and a request for a user name. When I attempted to use my Windows logon name the following error appeared: "Logon unsuccessful: The user name you typed is the same as the user name you logged in with. That user name has already bee tried. A domain controller cannot be found to verify that user name."
The second account works, however every time she loggs off, her account is disabled. So, we have to re-enable it then she has access again. Very frustrating to fix others mistakes...."
Any help would be greatly apreciated.
