Server 2012R2 Backup fails

I don't see a Server2012 group so I figure this might be the place. I am struggling with a new server 2012R2 Backup. Simple backup to a network location. I don't believe has anything to do with storage because I mounted a USB drive and i get the same results. Backup fails as soon as it starts: "Backup cannot start". The funny thing is as soon as it starts all the vss writers (at least majority) comes up with a error [10] state.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
