Hi Guys,

I have a box running Server 2012 with 16gig of ram running 2 virtual machines on Hyper VM. Both VM are Server 2008. One is running Exchange 2013. And while not fast it is usable. The second VM is running Server 2008 and hosts the websites.

This server is not usable. Just hitting the start button takes up to 30 seconds to respond. When you try to type something it's 10 seconds before a response.

I can open task manager on the virtual. And it show the virtual is using 2% of CPU ad 80% of the 2gigs of RAM given to it. It doesn't show any tasks or services that are using up lots of resources.

When I check the task manager of the host server. It doesn't show any resources being overwhelmed or used either.

How do I track down why this server has become so slow?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Dave

Hi Dave
How much RAM is dedicated to the Exchange server? I would put 8 gigs on Exhange and I usually put 4 gigs of RAM on a basic Virtual server such as a file server. Is the 2012 server have a full gui or is it running as a core server?
