Hello there

recently we had to do a clean install of server 2003 on our appserver.

now before the installation i had office 2000 installed, we use terminal services and i had installed office so clients were not switchin from their own PC's to use certain applications!

Now when i try and install office 2003(which i have stored on the hard drive), i enter the serial number, the installer runs for a minute or so before stooping Rocky.acs and displaying the folliwing error - - - - -error 1335 the cabinet file required for this installation is corrupt

Now ive installed this on client PCs running XP and had no problems at all

Can someone please put me out my misery here!

Do you think maybe your CD-ROM is at fault? Have you tried running from a network source. I know personally trying to run from a network source to a term server I have had issues, but never from CD. I'm not giving a guarantee that will work but try coping the CD to a network share and try running.

Another way, create an ISO of the CD and use something like Dameon Tools

I dont actually have or use the CD, im installing from the server itself, would it make a difference if i copied the package elsewhere?

I checked for event IDs and came up with a few of them,

"11335"

&

"10005"

Im gonnae look in to these but any suggestions would be appreciated!

im also going to try the ISO idea!

thanks for the suggestions people!

Attempted the solution on the event viewer

MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER
MSIEXEC /REGSERVER

Still no joy!

I know that installing office on our citrix servers we had to use the physical cd in the cd rom for some weird reason. Definitely need to do a change user /install before proceeding.

Thanks for that, im gonna have to wait untill the weekend before i try it, i downlaoded daemon tools and i have an iso of the package, but daemon wants to reboot the server so that will have to wait untill the weekend as i cant afford to boot all our users out for that long!

Im hoping that an ISO & Daemon tools will do the trick?
