server 2003 in a 2000 server domain 1

I am going to add a 2003 server to a domain that is currently being ran by 2000 server machines. I am planning on using the 2003 server as a backup domain controller for now. Do I need to run both the adprep /forestprep and the adprep /domainprep commands on the 2000 servers in order to bring the new server into the domain or can I just run the adprep /forestprep command?

You will need to prep the forest and the domain in order to add a Windows 2003 domain controller.

You are essentially upgrading the domain to 2003 - you should not "just run ADPREP" and think you're done. I'll be turning this into a web page soon (I hope) - in the mean time, this is my standard list of links to review before proceeding - unless you want to have problems... then just run ADPREP.
