Have a 2003 AD DC that is also a file server (small site).

We've started having some issues of XP Pro workstations loosing connection to the server.

For example, the G drive is mapped out to a DFS share.

When the workstation looses connection, and you try to go to the G drive, it reports that it can't connect to server.

You can ping the server, but if you try to net use and map out a new drive letter to ANY share, it won't map out saying couldn't connect to server.

But I can VNC and RDP to the server without problem.

Any idea's?

Have you tried mapping a network share with the servers IP-address? Could be some sort of DNS issue.

You could try restarting the Server service as well.

Good luck!
