Hi All,

I've an serious prob which encountered two weeks ago. Before then everything works fine.
My Prob is that my CD-Burn won't accept 750MB/8omin CD's for writing. With smaller ones it will work correctly. I changed my CD/R to an older one, but it looks like the same.
I use WinXP Pro V2002 SP1 on a AMD Athlon 1600+.
It's not only that my burn-program won't work, even if I insert the CD my CD/R can't "read" the blank CD.
Any suggestions are welcome.
regards
Uwe

Maybe the 750/80 CD-r's are not compatible with your drive. Not all drives will burn on every CD-R. It depends on the color of the disc (some have a green, blue silver coating). Also try updating your burning software. Hope this helps.

nope, it accepted this CD's before. I burned up to 20 CD's from this set, but since I updated my Nero to newest version it stops accepting this CD-R's now I deinstall it and install the old version but it doesn't work.

I have Nero 5.5 running on Win 2K Pro. The program worked okay, once. Now the Wizard loads, asks the proper questions, and asks for the CD to be inserted. When I put the CD in, the program stalls. I cannot end the program either from the cancel button, the "X", or from Ctr-Alt-Del. I must re-boot the machine to get out of it.

Hi Bird,

thats the same on my side. A colleague told me that the prob can be raised inside Windows Registry. The older version (5.5.0.3) works okay but after updating to 5.5.10 The problem is getting bigger, and the system won't work correctly.
In his oppinion the only way to solve is to reinstall Windows or the registry from former backups.
By deinstalling Nero will be some hidden keys left in the registry, so this problem wasn't solved by that.

If you've another way I like to hear ))
