The problem is that it is impossible on the server to add a file or open or
replace or whatever (this with \\[server]\sites\site\ ... ). However, we can
create folders there.
Now, if we go to the server with another computer and open the site with
webfolders, we can add files.

This has worked on the server for a long time, but all of the sudden it just
stopped working? Does anyone know how this can happen... I even made the
account administrator, checked the quota's, ... but I found nothing to undo
this.

Please help

not following your problem exactly. The WebClient service under XP/2003 must be running to be able to hit \\ paths of sharePoint locations. Is that running?

I have the same problem:
The webclient is running and I can access the site using \\server\sites\site1. I can view all the files and create directories, but I cannot change/upload anything -> unsufficient resources.
There should be no issues with disk space or user rights (->admin).

Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem ?
