Windows XP Home edition has shut my Dell 8200 Dimension down about 6-10 times to "avoid damage to the computer". The shutdown is intermitient but the last two times the error codes were ***STOP 0X0000008E(0XC0000005,0X80537345,0XB6ABBV8,0X00000000) and
0X0000007E(0XC0000005,0X80537345,0XBA957A14,0XBA957714).
A Dell service tech indicated my operating system was corrupt and I would have to wipe my hard drive clean and reinstall Windows XP and I told her I didn't want to hear that answer. After a month I almost have this new computer up to my speed.
Is their another solution?
My computer: Pentium (R) 4 cpu 1.9 GHz, 256 MB of Ram, Display Adapter 64MB NUIDIA GeForce2 MX.
