Only and easy way is to look at serial number of the system on system hardware it is listed there. This is the easy and only way. Now if the system is few hundred miles from where you are do the lscfg -vp command and out put to the file and you have to look thru this file. Where you find system information is where you will find system cpu info. I hope this helps.
systemid IBM,01XXXXXXXX Hardware system identifier False
Where XXXXXXXX can be numbers or letters. Strip away the 'IBM,01'. What's left is your serial number. May not be valid for all RS/6000's (definately not MCA machines) but all of my servers are in the same same family as the H70.
