Hi,

I've recently got my hands on an old 3Com Super Stack II Dual Speed Hub 500. I have absolutely no previous knowledge of settings etc and therefore cannot use the web interface.

So that I could set it up, I dug out a serial cable, connected it to my computer, started hyperterminal, used the settings located above the serial port (9600,8,1,N) and hit enter twice.

Nothing.

I tried a different computer, nothing. I tried a different computer with a USB to Serial converter, nothing. Nothing even if I set the correct terminal type (VT100), nothing!

I am at a complete loss as to why the serial interface dosen't work. I am sure the cable works, I even attached it to 2 different computers and managed to send text via hyperterminal between the two without problems.

Any help would be appreciated,

Kingsley Jarrett.
