I have setup sendmail on Fedora Core2.
Pretty much the same as RH9, which I run on another drive.
I can sedn email to USERS@MY_DOMAIN, but I cannot send email to USERS@ANY_OTHER_DOMAIN.
I can also send email to USERS@MY_DOMAIN from USERS@ANY_OTHER_DOMAIN, but again the problem is I cannnot send email to the outside world.
I see no errors in my /var/log/maillog file.
Here it is
Mar 7 08:01:58 test sendmail[11020]: j27D1wKp011020: from=<webmaster@test.homedns.org>, size=304, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<1110200518.10920.0.camel@test.homedns.org>, proto=ESMTP, daemon=MTA, relay=test.homedns.org [192.168.0.99]
Mar 7 08:03:58 test sendmail[11023]: j27D1wKp011020: to=<test1@fauxpas.org>, ctladdr=<webmaster@test.homedns.org> (500/500), delay=00:02:00, xdelay=00:02:00, mailer=esmtp, pri=120304, relay=mail.fauxpas.org. [66.152.97.36], dsn=4.0.0, stat=Deferred: Connection timed out with mail.fauxpas.org.
I'm really confused as to what the heck camel@test.homedns.org is...I don't have a local user accoutn named camel on my system.
Regardless. It appears the sendmail just times out trying to send the email. In Evolution email client, the email goes out and into the Sent Items folder, but it never gets delivered to the Outside world. After 4 houtrs, I get a MAILER_DAEMON email stating it failed to send after 4 hours of inactivity.
Any help is appreciated.
thank you,
mike
