Everything's working except for my sendmail configuration. It will send mail and receive mail from my server, and it will send mail from my Windows POP3 client, but it won't allow me to import mail from the server to my Pop3 account.

I thought this was a relay error, but I've added all the domains to the appropriate files and still no luck! Does anyone know the answer to this??

Are you running a POP3 server on the server? sendmail is just that, it sends and receives mail via SMTP, but it doesn't do POP3. //Daniel

No, I'm running a POP3 client on my windows box so I can receive my mail there rather than having to go on the server. None of the settings on the windows box were changed so it's something in the sendmail config.

At this point sendmail is not running at all.....

Sendmail does NOT deliver mails via POP3, you need an additional POP3 server to do that. From my understanding, qpopper is supposed to be a pretty good POP3 server. Just search this or the "Linux (server)" forum for POP3 server and you should be able to get one up and running pretty quickly. //Daniel

Hi,

Sendmail supports doesn't have an in built support for POP3. If you want to use POP3 feature using sendmail, then you have to install the imap rpm.

The POP3 service gets installed when you install the imap rpm.Once imap is thru, then just enable the ipop2 & ipop3 services and restart the xinetd daemon and Sendmail service.

That's it!!

George.

Failure to enable ipop2 & ipop3 was the cause of the problem :) Mail is flowing freely!
