Hello,

although port 25 is open and sendmail *should* be configured to listen to it, it does not.

M4 Config:
...
dnl DAEMON_OPTIONS(`Port=smtp,Name=MTA')dnl
...

Process 'sendmail: accepting connections' is running.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your support!

Are you sure port 25 is open? Are you sure sendmail is listening on the correct interface?

Output of netstat -an?

The dnl in front of that line tells the m4 compiler to ignore that line. It is a way of getting rid of a lot of white space. This is not your problem however because the port is hard coded into sendmail. My guess is that you don't have a local mailer specified.

MAILER(smtp)dnl
MAILER(procmail)dnl

Okay, problem solved.

in

/etc/sysconfig/mail

SMTPD_LISTEN_REMOTE

did say "no" (instead of "yes")

Must be some kind of funky distro. I've never heard of that file. ;-)
