What is the easiest way to send mail to all users who have an Exchange email box? I could set up Domain Users as a distribution group, but I don't think our users could grasp that easily, 'Everyone' would be much easier.

Create a Distribution List and add all users to it. Call it something like 'everyone' or 'allusers' and give it an email address of something like 'allusers@domain.com'

What I wanted to avoid was having to update that distribution list to include new users and delete the old. Unless I'm doing it wrong, I set up a global security group in an OU or in the Users OU and give it an exchange email address.

What about adding a common user group, like Domain Users Group, to your distribution group? This way I suppose the "everyone@yourdomain.com" would get automated...
Or am I wrong ?

Regards.

I believe bitcrawler has got it--AD lets you use security groups as Distribution Lists.

"Everyone" is a default security group in Exchange 2000 and I don't think you can use it as an email Distribution List(at least I was unable to). To get around it, I set up a security group called "All Associates" and added each user to the list, then gave it email address AllAssociates@domain.com. It worked out OK, it just took a little time to add each user to the group.
Hope you can use the info.

Everyone is a Foreign Security Principal. Not really a group.

You can't use Domain Users as Windows doesn't show group membership for the default group so the categorizer can't decipher the message.

So basically make a group :) Dan
