Well, currently we have a mail server off site that is giving us problems. I want to change the MX record in DNS to point to our Exchange mail server, but I have one concern.

Our FQDN is x.org, and the domain the Exchange server sits on is x.org.local ... is this going to cause a problem for mail sent to this server?

I don't want to try it and find out it does not work.

Anyone know?

Thanks, Daniel

should work fine. the mx record just translates to the ip you specify. And if your behind a firewall/router just nat it in to the .local's ip.

Thanks for the response. I have already updated the recipient policy and am hoping I'm not forgetting anything.

Thanks
Daniel.
