Is it possible to give users Outlook but restrict their e-mail usage to internal use only?

We have a group of users within the company that need to communicate but they shouldn't be able to receive or send external messages.

I'm sure this is possible in Exchange but I don't know how to do it.

Just had this one in the Ex2000 forum... must be topical.

You can create a Distibution List for all those people you want to restrict. Then add this DL to the DELIVERY RESTRICTIONS of the connector for internet mail (under CONFIGURATION > CONNECTORS > properties of the Internet Mail Service).

The connector will not process any SMTP mail for someone in that DL.

That's good. I just removed their smtp email address from mailbox properties.

The one caveat is that if you have internal users who send via POP3 or Blackberry, they will not be able to send messages to the restricted users even though they appear to be internal recipients to the senders.

See thread10-549234 maybe helpful.
