I have crystal reports server XI and and MS exchange 2003 server. When I schedule reports to send to specific email addresses they send fine with attachments to internal email address but do not send them to external email address.

Did I set up the report server incorrectly by using the internal domain and server name? Should I use the IP address or the long name Server.domain.local?

Thanks,

Check with your Outllok admin, they may not allow external SMTP emails.

And state what "do not send them to external email address" means. Do you get an error, or?

Sorry I wasn't clear, I don't get any kind of error at all is shows as a success in history and the email is never received at the external address.

I will check with my exchange admin.

Thanks

They might block external SMTP emails as a security measure because the server is behind a firewall, I had one shop claim this but then discovered that they were simply incompetent and we had it working after smacking the admin around with fact...

Make sure your settings include email authentication: user id & password that are used to authenticate to your SMTP server (probably "Exchange" in your case). Alternatively, set up Exchange server to allow anonymous relay from the ip address of the CE box.
