I am currently trying to user the docmd.sendobject command
but i get a message telling me that an application is attempting to access outlook and it could be a virus.

is there any way of bypassing/disabling this message

There is a detailed solution and a long winded one on Microsoft's web site which involves setting up rules on Exchange and setting up rules on the client side as a template in Outlook's public folders and you can push this down by using a login script to the users.

All of this hassle is because someone can write a program in Access to send email from a database with customer sentive records so by default this so called security feature is turned on.

Simple solution is to train the user to just press Yes twice on the dialog box and the email will be sent.

I have seen this behavior before and, if I remember correctly, it is related to either security settings in IE or a security "hot fix" Microsoft published some time ago. In my case it only happened on a development box, not in production, so I never actually "fixed" it...

Sorry,

There was a easy fix prior to SP2 and SP3 in Office 2000 but now it has been made the default security procedure and the only way out is to setup server and client side policies and rules (pain in the butt).
