Sending DID over PRI

Currently we have a PRI circuit that handles all incoming calls for DIDs 3100 - 3300. When we make calls out our main number of 3100 will show up on the party's caller ID who we are calling. Now that goes for all ext. numbers 3100-3300. Now I would like it to be that we are sending our 4 digits over this circuit so that when we call a party our party's DID number will show up (example 3133) instead of 3100. I know I would have to contact my local carrier but do I have to do any additional programming in my PBX? I am running an Avaya G3si V6. Would anyone know the answer to this question? Thanks a lot.

You may not need to contact the carrier. You do have to define the range in "change isdn public". Send calling party number must also be flagged Y on the trunk group form.

Do a 'change isdn public-unknown-numbering' as shown below. The Ext Len should be set to 4. (the length of your DID is 4 digits) The Ext Code is the first digit of your DID's (3). The trunk group is the number of the trunk which the calls will be placed over. The CPN Prefix should be left blank. You problably have XXXNNN3300 right now. Total CPN Len should be set to 4. This will send out 4 digits over Caller ID. This well send out the 4 digit DID's of all your stations. On the Trunk group that will be used, change the Send Calling Number to Y.

change isdn public-unknown-numbering Page 1 of 8
ISDN NUMBERING - PUBLIC/UNKNOWN FORMAT
Total
Ext Ext Trk CPN CPN
Len Code Grp(s) Prefix Len

4 3 5 4

Ok. I did that. If I put in the following:

change isdn public-unknown-numbering Page 1 of 8
ISDN NUMBERING - PUBLIC/UNKNOWN FORMAT
Total
Ext Ext CPN CPN
Len Code Prefix Len

4 3 (blank) 4

(I don't have a trunk group option). If I do this on the caller ID I will only get the 4 digit DID. I will not get the area code a prefix.

If I do it like this and put each one in manually then I will get all 10 digits including the DID number that is calling:

change isdn public-unknown-numbering Page 1 of 8
ISDN NUMBERING - PUBLIC/UNKNOWN FORMAT
Total
Ext Ext CPN CPN
Len Code Prefix Len

4 3000 856-999-3000 10
4 3001 856-999-3001 10

If I put each one in it will work. Am I doing something wrong?

It should be:

4 31 856999 10
4 32 856999 10
4 33 856999 10

These 3 entries should fix it for you.

THAT DID IT!. This is the first time I have used this board and not the last. I appreciate it guys.

Thanks,

Make sure you can call LD. I did this & the carrier blocked outgoing LD calls as a result. I guess they didn't like what was coming across as CPN.

Sorry I thought you just wanted the last 4 digits of the DID. Glad to see it worked out though.

If you leave the TRK GRPS space blank, does the change apply to all trunk groups?

Yes, it applies to all groups if you leave the field blank.

I've tried this on my SBC PRI with no luck, any other suggestions? When I run test calls and call an extension locally, I'm showing the name of the trunk and the TAC code for the trunk.

When I call people at home, I'm getting main #'s for the trunk group.

Thanks!

Are the CPN numbers that you're sending in the SBC range? Many carriers will only send forward DID's that they service. Alternatively, customer-originated Calling Party Number may not have been turned on by SBC for that specific PRI, and that's why you get the main billing number.

Just verified that I have Caller Id turned on....any other suggestions?
