My PC crashed, and I had to use the recovery disc. I then had to reload Microsoft Office 2000 Pro. Since then, Outlook is different! When I used to click on Send/Receive, I would get a message in the bottom right corner saying that Outlook was searching for incoming/outgoing messages, and a box in the middle would say how many emails I had coming in, or going out, and a progress bar. This is not there now, and there is just a small box in the middle saying 'Checking for incoming/outgoing emails'. I have no idea how many messages are coming in or how big the attachments are. There also used to be a box by the Send/Recieve button saying details, which would expand the send/receive screen, but this isn't there anymore. NE1 got any idea's whats gone wrong???

Thanks

Internet only mode or Corporate (Exchange) mode?

Try checking your accounts, status bar, options, send/receive settings... etc.

If you can give more information I can try and help.

Outlook version:
Mail "Mode" (Exchange? Internet only?).

Or, simply reinstall the software if you have tried the above and just want to get this dealt with.

sorry, Internet only mode.

I've been through every menu, and can't see an option for details. Its not that important, just annoying that its not there anymore. Probably have to reload it and see what happens this time.

Thanks for any help
Tracey

Try clicking on the Receiving Mail icon in the bottom right of your task bar while the mail is coming in. This will bring up 2 options -- Cancel and Details -- select Details -- Uncheck the "Always hide this dialog" radio button and you should now be able to see the progress bar.

Thanks Kathleen, but I'm not even getting the message in the right corner anymore, even though I'm receiving messages. I think I'm going to have to reload it.

Thanks again
Tracey
