Hi
I am using IE6, I also have 2 mail clients on my PC "Outlook 2003 & Lotus Notes 6.5)with Outlook being the default mail client, Notes is just used as a application/database container.
. When I am in IE and need to send a page by mail Lotus notes is allways opened, I need Outlook to open.
I have checked Internet Options and Outlook is set as Mail client.
I have checked the file types in folder options and the URL:mailto protocol is also set to Outlook, settings as follows:
Action : open
App used: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE" %1
Use DDE: Ticked
Application: Outlook
Topic: system.

What OS is being used?

Try this. In internet options, Mail program, change the default to Outlook Express. Apply, then open Outlook Express from the Start menu (if not there, open it directly be searching for msimn.exe). When you open OE, it should ask if you want it to be set as the default mail handler - choose yes. Then close OE, go back to Internet Options & set the mail program to Outlook. Open Outlook& you should get the same prompt about being the default - choose yes again.

Depending on OS & SP level, you might be able to accomplish essentially the same thing by going into Control Panel, Add & Remove Progams, Set Program Access & Defaults.

OS= XP Pro.
I had to change the default in Add remove programs but it worked a treat thanks.
