Guys,

I would appreciate any help available on this one.

I have been asked to investegate weather or not it is possible to utilise the functionality within Microsoft Access to email an object output (in this case a report). So user runs a report and then exports that data into an email in Lotus Notes.

I will post the same request for assistance in an MS Access forum.

thankyou for looking.

MS Access can mail by using SMTP to the Notes server, I think. Either that, or Access calls on Outlook Express to create the mail and send it.
This has nothing to do with Notes and everything to do with Access.

Once the mail is sent correctly, Notes will recieve a normal SMTP mail with an attachment, and the server will put it in its intended recipient's mailbox. This recipient can also be a mail-in database, in other words, not a user's mailbox.

Now, if you intend to use Access to create a document in Notes and put the data, you are looking at using ODBC, but that is an entirely different ball game. Access can open a Notes database and read or create records, so I do not see why a report could not be put in a Notes document, although I have never done such a thing myself.

Pascal.
