I would like to create an email message from Access based on a query. Query provides the email address. I would like the email address to be added to the 'to' line in the Outlook email message. Any help is appreciated!

I have a form that has a button. Once the form is clicked it inititates a query. User is prompted to enter a parameter value (client number), the record is then displayed to the user. However, I would like to instead of displaying the record, create an email message with the email address of the client in the To line.

Thanks!

Also, would docmd.sendobject work here, because I really don't want to send an object, just use an email address to create an email.

alexcuse,
is there anyway to modify this to send email from groupwise? i have an appp that can use this method.
thanks.

needInfo -

At soem point I will have a look and see if you can make the email window visible and open for editing, I have never done so before. But you could certainly pop up a form where the user can edit the body, subject, to and from strings and click send.

jfdabiri - I have seen it discussed on here, but I am not familiar with Groupwise. Here is a link to someone's code on email from Groupwise though, looks like it uses SendObject rather than CDO.
It's pretty recent, so if you reply to it maybe the poster will show you how they got it to include an attachment?

Good Luck,

Alex

thanks alexuse,
i looked at his code. i guess it's pretty simple. he's got a docmd, which is unique to vba. what do i code in its place in vbscript?

Ah, didn't know you wanted it for vbScript... YOu might want to post this in the vbScript forum.

Is SMTP enabled on your mail server? If it is, I know how you can send.

Good Luck,

Alex
