This question pertains to an automated database. The automated system is running on a separate computer all by itself and is not being monitored at all times. I have been trying to code the database to send an email if the automation stops. The current database is set up to send an email if an error occurs inside of the current code, but I am not sure if it is possible to send an email if just a general error occurs in Access that is not within the code. It would be very helpful if the database could send an email if the automation system stops for any reason. Is this possible? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Probably you would need to monitor the operation of the database through a different application. The other application could periodically test the automated application with a timer event that runs a query against the automated database and then sends an email if it fails to get a response.
