what is the difference between send all calls and a call forward button on a phone. how are they set up

thank you

Send all calls (SAC) send the incoming call to the next point of coverage on the coverage path.

Call forward allows you to send incoming calls to another set inside or outside. It also overrides CAS. You can use this using feature access codes. (disp fea)

mikeydidit -thank you

so send all calls will not work for pumping calls to a cell phone from your desk phone.

we have EC500 but are maxxed out on the 5 free licenses and this is not an option

so call forward sounds like it might work if i assign two buttons on the phone one for the FAC+ CF number to activate and the other to deactivate, Question is if I program the activate button as *FACxxxxxxx is there a way for the user to have control to change this number that the call is being forward to ? or will it be a permanent number to which I program it for when I set up the CF activation button on the users station ?

any help is appreciated

im on a cm 2.2.2. using digital and IP phones

You can In fact IMO it is the best method. You will have to create a remote coverage path. The command is "ch cov rem". Add the number there you want to send your calls to. The bad thing is once the call is sent to the remote number it can not come back.

I usually set these up on the cover path like this.

Have everything set to yes except SAC. The create another path (next path number) and have everything set to "no" except SAC. It will follow the coverage path normally until you hit SAC. It then will route the calls out over the remote coverage path.

let me go try

ty for your time and support I will advise

You can use coverage to forward to a cell phone if the person does not answer at their extension. But it is cumbersome because you have to create a VDN, Vector and cover path for each person you do it for.

Create a VDN that points to a vector.
In the vector route the call to the cell number.
Create a cover path that has the VDN as the first cover point. Put voice mail in the second cover point.
Assign that cover path to the station.

This will not be the same as EC500 because it will not ring both at the same time. It will roll to cover if they don't answer or if the sendallcalls is set.

The system must be allowed to make the outgoing call.

Not a problem at all. Let me know if you need help in setting it up.

I added a SAC button to station 1234
I created a remote coverage path of 13 with the cell phone number.
I created a coverage path of 20 with everything set to yes except SAC, in addition to next path number is 21
I created a second coverage path of 21 everything set to "no" except SAC, with this cp pointing to remote cp 13.

on station 1234 it has a normal coverage path 1 of x pointing it to voice mail I would replace x with cp 20 if i have this correct.

then to get the phones calls to the sell I would press the sac button on station 1234

correct ????

That should do it. Have you tried it yet??

This may be the problem. I haven't set this up on any IP sets. I am not sure if this feature works on that type set or not.

im calling from my 4620 Ip phone to my 6408 digital station that has the send calls button on it...

Did you put the "9" or whatever your ARS code is in front of your remote number?

Also try this. "ch cov rem 1. This has 1000 entires. Add what ever number and use that # as the remote coverage path number.

Yes here is how got it to work.

I created a new remote coverage path of 19 with the cell phone number that the calls were going to be forwarded to.

I created a new coverage path of 20 everything set to "no" except SAC, with the cp pointing to remote cp 19. In addition I put the normal cp to voice mail in the field "Next Path Number"

On station 1234 under cp 1 I inserted the coverage path of 20.

If I don’t press the Send All Calls button to forward the calls, then the calls go normally to voice mail. If I activate the Send All Calls Button then after 1 ring the calls are forwarded to the designated cell phone

Thank you for your help and assistance with this
