Hello,

We have a MM with a S8700. We received our fax in our mailbox by the MM. But we can not send fax by email.
We have configured fax in voice mail configuration of the MAS. I think dialing rules are ok but for Microsoft Fax Service Manager, not sure.
Have we forgotten something? is there is someone witch happened the same thing?

Thanks a lot

Manu

And you are using exchange for the message store? Or MSS

We use mms with outlook.
When we send a email, we have the reponse:

"Your message to fax=4004@ xxxxxxx.com could not be delivered.
user "fax=4004@xxxxxxx.com" unknown

The undeliverable message is attached "

And that, in internal or external fax number

We would need to know what your rel of software is and if you are using the Avaya message store or if you are using Exchange or Domino as the message store.

OKi,

We are Modulare Messaging V4.0 release 6.2.696.3 and we use the Voice Mail system configuration in the MAS where fax voice mail domain is configured.
There is no exchange or Domino.

I think it miss something in the MAS that it can not send the number of the fax.

It is usually more straightforward from a user perspective to send faxes using the fax print driver on the MAS with release 4.0, but if you want to do it as you describe from an email then you will need to make sure that the "From" address can be verified by the MSS as a mailbox subscriber (i.e. the email handle) that has the COS capabilities of Outbound fax calls set to Yes.

That is assuming you have the MSS server as the backend message store since you say you don't have Exchange or Domino.

Yes we have the MSS server as the backend message store. And i check the COS in my voicemail subscriber and the
Outbound fax calls set to Yes.

Is there any special licence to do that or a particular parameter to configure?

Emmanuel

When you are sending a fax and addressing it as TO: fax=4004@ xxxxxxx.com are using the FQDN of the MSS server ? In the MSS IMAP/SMTP logs you should see something come in on the SMTP In Log for this.
