I have 2 computers. I is acting as the server with admin rights and all that. The other computer i can log on to the domain and everything. My problem is that on the server I have a shared folder for document. The server cant see the other computer and the workstation computer cant see the server. I need to transfer files from the workstation computer to the server. What am I doing wrong?

Can you conact the server and workstation using the ping command?

no i could not ping the other computer by ip, if thats what you mean.

I'm not sure if I did something right on initial setup, but when I was installing 2003 server on the server it asked about DHCP being static and I said no I wanted it to be dynamic. I thought this was right because I use a router. Could this be my problem, I'm constantly getting errors in the event viewer about not being able to renew my ip address! I'm new at this so...

maybe a look into some tcp/ip and routing documentation will give you some insight, so you will realise what you did wrong. If you are willing to learn about this kind of stuff anyways, reading up on it is a must.
