Selecting A Certain Amount Of Text In A Textbox

Hi

Is it possible to select a certain amount of text in a textbox rather than the whole lot? I`m sure I`ve seen this done somewhere..

when I say select.. I mean it as in highlight.

Do you mean select the text by dragging your cursor over the word, or select part of the word using a substring function in java?
