I am attempting to create a report a parameter is used to show records based on a value that is calculated in a group. I have two conditional running totals in my report that are multiplied together to give result x. The user will input a value y and will only want to see records where x is greater than y. I have tried supressing where x > y and also looked into group selection formula. There is currently one group and the details section is always surpressed. The problem appears to be in the order of processing and I am wondering if there isn't a different approach.

Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

So when you tried the 2 approaches you mentioned, what were the results? Did you get an error or just unexpected results?

If you got an error, post it.

If you got unexpected results, post your formulas, sample data, desired output and current output.

The error when trying to use the Group Selection formula was that formula needed to be evaluated later. When attempting to conditionally surpress the group footer I got unexpected results in that it didn't surpress the group footer.

Based on some research I have since changed the way the report is designed. I read that you cannot use Running Totals in the Group Selection, but that you can use standard summary fields. I have changed the report and now I only have standard summary fields in the group footer and am able to use the Group Selection formula successfully.

Would still be interested in other suggestions though.

Thanks.

Please post the formula you were using for your group selection formula, as well as any formulas it refers to.
