select last 20 records 1

Does anyone know how i can select the last 20 records from my database? So far I have:
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM tblWhatever
That returns the no. of records in the table...
I am using the general (free) account from brinkster (if that matters). Anyone?

SELECT TOP 20 * FROM tblWhatever
ORDER BY field DESC
