seeing 2 hard drive and only have 1!!!!!!!!

I had to replace my hard drive in my compaq presario 7360 and now it is showing that I have 2 drives C and D. I don't have 2 drives why is this showing 2, it even has something on the drive d. and after I used my recovery disc everything worked ok except it doesn't find a driver for my audio so my sound doesn't work. anyy suggestions????

Sounds like the harddrive you put in was partitioned into 2 drive letters by someone before you got it. This should not be a problem but more of an inconvenience if you want all of the space to be C and not C and D.

See if any of the drivers on this page work for your sound card.

Compaq's usually have a "D" patition that is where the Sytem Save information is kept in case you have to do a Quick Restore.

thanks for the info I tried to run quick restore on this computer Compaq 7360 again after I ran it the first time thinking I might be able to get my sound card working but it wouldn't run, can you tell me why? This computer isn't mine its my neice's. I put the hard drive in it but I am not much on all this techical stuff. Thanks for the help

Is the sound for this PC on-board (built into the motherboard) or was there a sound card installed in the PC after she got it? If it's the latter of the two, that may be the reason why the quick restore software/drivers doesn't contain the drivers for her sound. Find out what kind of sound card it is and then visit the manufacturer's website for the drivers. IF the sound is on board OR if there is sound card but it came with the PC, try going here:
