See detailed information of Windows server backup... 1

Is there any way to view any detail as to what files are currently being written to tape? I think its taking longer to write smaller part files (100KB - 2MB) from our CAD system folders than larger model files.

We are using:

Netbackup 5.0 +MP4
Windows 2000 Server
Windows Server Backup Policy
Quantum M1500 (SCSI) SDLT600 Media

Its nothing critical, just curious. Still a little new to Netbackup...

If you install the java gui from the windows cd to a workstation and log into the master one of the column choices is to see the file currently being backed up. OR after the backup finishes you can use the restore window to view details of the file with the backup time. Neither one of this is exactly what you (and I) really want though.

caution on that column.
It stops updating on an individual basis after x amount of entries. It then waits until a threshold has been reached and then it does a onetime update for the file active at that point in time. I don't remember the exact amounts of the thresholds.

Current File For Active jobs, this is a file that was recently written to the image. If the job is backing up many files, not all of them necessarily appear in this column over the course of the backup. Instead, each of the first 25 files appear, and after that only every 25th file until 500 files have been backed up. After 500 files, every 500th file appears.
