If so how do I get the databasse it to ask them for their user ID when they login

If not what is

Thanks in advance

Yes, I think you are on the right track. Get all the details in a file. This will help to locate the record when a user logsin and chechk againt his password. You can store the password in an encrpted way and always get the logedin password also encrypt in the same way by the programme and compare the results. This way the passwords will not be out, even for a DBF browser who could accidetaly get an access to the file and browse the records.
