Once again I come here for help, one day I hope to help someone else :)

When creating a user account on Notes you have to specify a security type, which on our setup can be set to either North American or International. As we're in Britain, we have to select International, but sadly we're only human and therefore have a tendency to miss this bit out. So my question is, can the security type be changed once the account has been registered? At the moment we're re-creating the accounts from scratch if this happens which isn't exactly efficient!

Thanks in advance,
Dan Moss

Hello Dan,

did you ever get a response to this problem? i too would like to change a user's security type from North American to International.

thanks,
-Andy.

actually since 5.0.3 (or 5.0.4) there's no different international and North American version anymore since the US dropped their ban on exporting (certain kinds of) encryption. You should be able to use the NA keys, unless the UK has some lame laws in place of course ;-)

Sadly our client isn't interested in updating from version 4.
By the sound of it, we aren't going to be able to do this as it's a legal thingie :(

Thanks for the help,
-Dan

As far as I know there is no way you can do this. You will have to recreate the ID. The user will only loose old encrypted mail if you do this. They will still have the old inbox so it isnt to bad.
