I am running XP Pro on one of my machines in my home network. Another machine is running Win2K. I recently installed a wireless router and configured as was instructed. I use Satellite for Internet access. Since having put in the wireless router I have been having a very irritating problem. When I first start my XP machine, everything works great. I can access all sites without any problems and my email works fine. If I don't use my machine and leave it running (say overnight or for several hours), then try to access a secure site the next morning or later, the page comes up and says it cannot be displayed. All other websites will work fine. It only seems to be the secure sites. Also, I cannot recieve my Outlook email from my service provider. It errors out and says something like it can't find the specified server. If I reboot my XP machine, then I can once again access everything. I have no problems with the Win2K machine. I never have to shut it down and can still get to all websites and email anytime. I thought it might have to do with the cache somehow. I have gone in and set Internet Explorer to delete temp files on the XP machine when closing the application, but that didn't help. I didn't have any problems until after I installed the router, but I don't understand how that can be a problem, since I never have to reboot the Win2K machine. Both machines are running Zone alarm, but are configured the same, and was installed long before I set up the router. The XP firewall is off. Prior to getting the router, I would just have to plug the cable into the modem box of the machine that I wanted to be using . Niether of these machines are wireless. They both connect into the router by Ethernet cables. Any suggestions.....I'm at my wits end!!!
