security policy problem

I have a win2k server with 20 workstations.
My problem is the folowing : I cannot open the "domain controller security policy" and the "domain security policy" in the administrative tools.
I am a member of all kind of administrators. I can create accounts, delete other admin accounts, and edit dhcp optionst and everything else.

when i try to open the domain controller sec. policy the error message is the following :
"failed to open the group policy object, you may not have appropiate rights, an invalid dn syntax has been specified"

but as i said i checked it, i have im a member of all kind of admin groups.....

please help me!!

A long shot...but try Start, Run, mmc, Okay.
Try to add the above to the MMC console and open it there. GlennA
