used xp with prevx and kaspersky av/fw/em suite successfully for 6 months until ks updates ran out.

today using prevx, kaspersky av, and just installed iolo shield suite 3 fw/em. so far seem to coexist, accepting this is a bit of overkill.

have also just installed xp on new laptop with macfee suite
and mamutu. not sure about mamutu yet.

general security comments and views on iolo and mamutu especially.

What exactly are you trying to protect yourself form? The plague?

hi davetoo, well thats the overkill bit

i have not (to my knowledge) had a security issue for many years, and thats the way i like it. so much so i am prepared to work at keeping it that way.

by way of discussion and since no web connection is the only completely secure web approach, my security strategy is based upon (a) my web behavior (b) router fw (c) software fw (d) software av (e) software behavior monitor.

as an example - during an isp problem investigation the isp required direct modem connection, thus (a) is lost.

currently i like kaspersky for av, prevx for behavior,
comodo 3 fw doesn't seem to play well with kav.

in tracking/trying new stuff like mamutu, my post is trying to find out about others security experience.

I tried Comodo w/ AVG, machine ran like a dog.....

Only the truly stupid believe they know everything.
