I have an old machine with limited resources.
I am using Kaspersky Internet Security for a long time, but I have feeling that KIS is using a lot of resources and slowing my PC.
Need your opinion and advice what is the best solution for me-replace KIS 2009 with NOD 32 ESET_Smart_Security_4.0, or leave it as it is now.
I don’t like to loose actual defense capability to gain some little better capacity and speed.

You could move away from Security Suites which try to do everything and consequently slow you down in the process. You can rely on the Windows XP Firewall (and any Router if that applies), allowing you to just run Anti Virus (with Spyware components) software of your choice.

Here are a couple of free ones for you to consider. I use both of them but obviously on different machines and I am quite satisfied with the results.

About Microsoft Security Essentials

AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 9.0

I supplement the above with manual scans by this also free program.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Bronan, personally I would go for ESET NOD32 before I would even consider Kaspersky (something like 5th or 6th on my list of AV apps that I would recommend)...

My personal favorite is Avira Premium...

but as to protection, judge yourself:

How to ask a question, when posting them to a professional forum.
Only ask questions with yes/no answers if you want "yes" or "no"

I can agree with BBB since I've been using Avira AntiVir Personal - FREE Antivirus for almost two years an have had no problems at all.
You would probably "feel safer" with the professional version that I believe normally goes for $79 but I've seen it offered for $29 when they run specials now and then.

There is also an Advanced version for $59 that I have seen offered for (I believe $19) on occasion.

SUPER Anti Spyware (free addition) has also served me well over the years.

Good Luck

Thanks for assistance.
As the first option , after uninstalling KIS , try Microsoft Security Essentials , but the result was that PC rests completely blocked, because low memory.
Uninstall it and install NOD Eset Smart Security and besides the fact that after computer scan, this one found a lot of false positives, my machine performances are improved significantly .
