I have a GW 5.5 system with a GWIA gateway.
How can I do to avoid users sending mail via an smtp client without login into GW.For example with an outlook express client you have to enter password only to receive your emails but you can send an email without login.
So any person who knows the name of the server can use it and spam.

Excuse my approximative english...

ak8899 has it right! If you disable SMTP Relay, that should prevent users other than GroupWise from sending mail through the GWIA.

You can find this setting in the details for your GWIA object.

> Go to the ACCESS CONTROL tab.
> In the lower left hand corner, click on the SMTP Relay button.
> Under SMTP Relay Defaults, select PREVENT MESSAGE RELAYING.
> Choose OK and exit.

Good Luck!

Thanx,

ButI have POP and SMTP users who need to connect to GW.And if disable SMTP Relay they won't be able to send any mail.

onthe replaying you can block and apply some exceptions. The users you want to allow just add them. everyone else will get blocked. Lee Smith
