I have a new client that is using a MICS 7.0 and they have a very busy security gate that uses a seperate intercom box on the other side of the room and a Mag Lock. The person walks up to the box, presses the button and then a loud tone in the office. Of course the staff has to get up out of their chairs each time.

I have used the Nortel wall mounted door phones before on several installs, works great but never with a door strike.

What do I need to convert this into an integrated system that will show up on the handsets in the office and allow them to activate and release the maglock?

Would I just need a new door phone wall mounted Nortel box and a door strike controller? If so will the handsets have an OPEN button?

Thank you

Shouldn't matter if its a mag lock or strike they both use the same method of stopping the current to open.

I'd just pop a door phone on there with a doc and work with their lock guy or access control guy

To answer your question, yes the phones will display OPEN on a soft key for the users to press or you can program a digit to open the door as well ie. 6 is the default digit. Just remember to get a BST doorphones and DOC and everything will work fine.

What questions number 1 will the BST be able to be weatherproof and this is a school and they use amplified page into the Nortel with horns outside is there a conflict
