We created a short cut to our VM system, so that we can access VM boxes of hunt groups

*93 [Extension]

this works fine,
except for huntgroups, it doesnt prompt for Security Code if you are calling from a phone that is a member of the hunt group.

For example.

Ext. 8321 is a member for the Hunt Group 8888

when I dial *93 8888, it will prompt me for VM Code
but from my extension if bypasses the code

any ideas?

If you have a trusted number listed then it wont prompt you for password.

Ex.
V8321 or V8888

This can be found within the user under the source number tab.

Also, try changing the SC to:

SC=*93
Telephone#=?U
Feature=VM Collect

The sourcenumbers tab is for users not huntgroups

unfortunatly it is standard operation for the VM to give group msgs to members without prompting for a password.

Switching to intuity mode if using VM pro would force all mailboxes to promnpt for passcodes.
If you are using VM lite than i am afraid this is how it works.
the assumption from avaya is that group calls going to VM would be recoring information that would be available to the group member had they answered the call & therfore not of a confidential nature.

Is switching between VM Pro and Intuity mode a global setting or can it be done for individual mailboxes?

Are there differences in how the users navigate their mailboxes in Intuity versus VM Pro mode?

Also, try changing the SC to:

SC=*93
Telephone#=?8888
Feature=VM Collect

That will retrieve Voicemail for Hungroup 8888

Under Source Numbers you can add

H200

to the extensions that will retrieve from that mailbox.

intuity mode is a global setting

you could add a short code for anunymouse VM access

SC *99
Number "?Anonymous
Feature Voicemail collect

this will prompt for mailbox number then pasword, even from a secure location
